Located regarding the far southwestern corner for this South Island, the nearest town is Te Anau. For that south side of the city there are several coves that yachts can anchor in when conditions are calm.I couldn't just pass the Monterey Peninsula though, without a quick visit 1 of the most popular spots on the whole California coast: Point Lobos
